Trainer

The team trainer is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of all players during practices, games, and team events. This includes responding to injuries, providing basic first aid, and ensuring players are physically prepared to participate. Trainers help maintain a safe environment by monitoring equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and supporting return-to-play guidelines. They work closely with the coach, team officials, and parents to address any medical concerns and must hold the required certifications as outlined by Hockey Canada and Blues Hockey.


Training & Certifications

All trainers require to complete the following certification/training:

NOTE: Level 1 Trainers who are currently qualified under previous requirements are eligible until their certification expires. There is no more refresher course, every trainer will have to do complete the Hockey Canada Safety Program course every 3 years.

Level 2:

All trainers U14 -U18 are required to complete the following certification/training:

It is the responsibility of each trainer to keep their certification up-to-date.

Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check

In addition, all trainers also require to maintain a current POLICE RECORD CHECK (Level 3 Vulnerable Sector).
